You will share unique cannabis journey with a group of fellow cannabis enthusiasts providing you the confidence to feel open to express your passion for the Cannabis Culture.
Welcome to Negril, A still-sleepy beach village the locals have dubbed the "Capital of Casual".

A truly magical moment only happens in Negril... as the amazing orange glow of the Jamaican sun sets with the cacophony of sounds from the waves crashing into cliffs below you feel enter a state of calm and  serenity. Letting your mind calm down to completely take in the special time your have allowed yourself.

Groove to the rythm of reggae, inhale the aromas of pimento wood and spice of the jerk sizzling on the open fire, while enhancing your killer buzz after taking a toke from a spliff of insane Rastafi ganja grown in lush mountains right outside of Negril.
Home Sweet Home is an intimate 17-room hotel built atop Negril's coral cliffs. Towering nearly 40-feet above the blue sea below.
Each morning you will Wake n' Bake to the crashing waves into the cliffside below while sipping your Infused Coffee. The rooms have a private seaview porch or balcony to sit and reflect enjoying a joint.
Stone pathways curve throughout the intimate grounds then end at the stairway down to the blue Caribbean water where you can snorkel and explore the cracks and crevices along the cliff wall.

Jamaican cuisine is a feast for the taste buds. Delicious seasonal fruits bursting with flavor, deep earthy spices and a melting pot of culinary traditions, make Jamaica a foodie's escape.

There's simply nothing like eating jerk fresh off flavorful pimento wood, or the taste of a beautifully rolled spliff of Purple Kush while chilling at 3 Dives watching the sunset.

From locally procured chicken to pork, fresh caught lobster and fish, there’s a jerk meal for just about any palate. Like the soft white sand of the beaches or the pulsating beats of reggae music, jerk cuisine is world famous.

Jerk is both a method of cooking and a harmonious combination of spices originating with the Maroon people of Jamaica in the 1600’s.  During the colonization of Jamaica by the British, the resilient runaway slaves known as the Maroons eluded the British by inhabiting the mountainous interior regions of Jamaica. To conceal their location they prepared meals underground, over coals and pimento wood, common to the hills of Jamaica.

Today this method of jerking meat is synonymous with Jamaica and transcends much of the culinary scene. Be warned, however, the combination of sweet and savory spices mixed with fragrant wood is very hard to resist. You may find that your Jamaican diet consists of little else.

Jerk chicken and pork is will be abundant on our retreat. Make sure you pair it with traditional Jamaican favorites like Festivals (a fried sweet dough), Bammies (a cassava flatbread) and Coco Bread (a sweet yeast roll).

Now Let's Talk About What We'll Be Doing...

Day 1:     TUESDAY, Jan. 11     Arrive to Jamaica!! Ya Mon!!
Upon your arrival into Montego Bay you will be escorted by a representative from Club Mo' Bay with expedited service through immigration to the VIP lounge where you can catch your breath after a long day of travel. Grab a quick bite from their all-inclusive snack menu or a beer or water as you wait for the shuttle to arrive.

Once your are settled on the shuttle you're cannabis adventure begins!! The driver will provide you with a Pre-rolled joint and bag of Infused Popcorn to munch on for the 1 1/2 hr. ride along the Jamaican north coast to Negril.

Welcome to Home Sweet Home.

Meet us at the bar as we gather together for our first sundown toke. To get to know each other then feast on our first Dinner together listening to live Reggae music.

(Infuse your dinner with canna-butter and salt)
.

Rastafarians use cannabis spiritually during ceremonies as a meditation aid. During “REASONING” sessions Rastas gather to smoke the “HOLY HERB” and discuss moral quandaries . On our retreat we will continue the spiritual traditions of the Rastafarians each evening as we join together to reflect on our shared experience.
Rastafarians consider cannabis a part of the Tree of Life mentioned in several Bible verses and believe that
“The herb is the key to new understanding of the self, the universe, and The Creator. It is the vehicle to cosmic consciousness."

“Thou shalt eat the herb of the field” (Genesis 3:18), “Eat every herb of the land” (Exodus 10:12) and “The herb is the healing of the nations” (Revelation 22:2).

Picture
Good morning!!

Hope you are enjoying your Jamaican Breakfast at Home Sweet Home with an Infused cup of coffee.
Our journey today takes about 25 minutes outside of Negril out to Canaan Mountain. After we turn off the main road we drive 4 miles up the mountain until we approach the impressive wooden gates of Zimbali Retreat. Our hosts for the Mark and Alicia invite us into a magical open air lounge to wait for our guide Rasta Fiyah to take us on a hike out to his farm, "Camp Survival", for a true Rastafarian dining experience.

On the way we stop at “Gracie’s Spring” to fill our water bottles with natural water straight from the ground. Once up at the camp, follow Fiyah to pick fresh foods and spices. Now it’s time to start the fire.

Rasta Cooking is known as ‘Ital Cooking’ and it relies on all-natural herbs, spices and hand squeezed coconut oil for its one of a kind flavor. This is a true learning experience on so many levels that many people find it life changing. This is reason alone to make the journey.

After Rasta Fiyah leaves us back at Zimbali we find our way to the deck that overlooks the lush tropical landscape below. Now is a great time for a toke and reflect on how totally amazing and peaceful you feel right at that moment. The parrots are singing, the palm trees are swaying in the gentle breeze and you realize just how awesome the world is. Zimbali is a truly special place.

Our day continues with a tour of Zimbali's Ganja Farm where you can meet and talk with the local growers to learn how they manage the plants. This is your oppotunity to learn a few tips and secrets from "old-school" Rastafarian farmers.
The next part of the tour takes us through Zimbali's impressive "Farm to Table" organic farm. You will see many of the items growing that will utilized in our 5-Course Infused "Farm to Table" Dinner Experience.

Our final event is our Infused 5-Course Farm to Table Dinner at Zimbali's stunning open-air show kitchen. You will experience the meal as the chef creates each course. As we work our way through the meal our, Host Alicia, will tell stories about the local area around Zimbali and provide tips about how she uses the fruits and vegetables they harvest from the organic farm. This will be an experience you will remember for the rest of your life!!

Terms and Conditions

You: Hmmm.. Isn't weed is illegal in jamaica.

ME:   Nope... totally legal, if you know where to get it!! Canna-tourism to Jamaica is now possible due to the  decriminalization of Cannabis in 2015 and establishment of Medical Marijauana, along with official acceptance of the Rastafarian Church to provide the sacrament of ganja in exchange for a donation to the church.
Jamaica is on the verge of moving beyond it's reputation just as a cool place to smoke to weed to a premier Canna-tourism destination. Cannabis can be legally purchased from licensed Rastafari Sacramental Sanctuaries and Medical Marijuana Dispensaries throughout the island.

I created Elevated Cannabis Adventures for all of the Cannabis Enthusiasts (Like Me!) that have decided it's time to move past the stigmas of the past.
Prior to obtaining my Florida MM license I had been a "Garage Toker"... yup just like many of you I was very worried about letting people, especially my kid know that I use Cannabis. However, times are changing and I feel emboldened to bring my love of Jamaica and Cannabis together.

David Gapin

Retreat Leader & Cannabis Enthusiast

As a travel agent since 2006,  Jamaica has been my favorite country to send my clients to as well as for my own getaways. And now since Jamaica decriminalized and established legal routes through the Rastafari and Medical Dispensaries I have decided to "come out of the garage" and cure my personal canna-curiousness by creating a retreat that gets me excited every time I think about it.

MY FIRST TRIP TO JAMAICA WAS BACK IN 1995. IT'S KINDA CRAZY, BUT I ACTUALLY WON THE TRIP ON A RADIO CONTEST. REGINA AND I WERE SO EXCITED (we just started dating then... still married today!!). THE CONTEST RAN FOR 30 DAYS WITH A WINNER EACH DAY.

IMAGINE FOR A SECOND... 60 CRAZY, HUNGRY, THIRSY AMERICANS SHOWING UP IN JAMAICA BEFORE 11AM. THIS WAS BACK WHEN "ISLAND TIME" WAS REAL AND THE RESORT WAS NOT READY TO RECEIVE US. I WILL NEVER FORGET THE DEER IN THE HEADLIGHTS LOOK THE TWO BARTENDERS GAVE OUR GROUP.  IT TOOK A WHILE BUT ONCE OUR ROOMS WERE READY IT ONLY TOOK A SHORT WHILE TO SCORE SOME WEED. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE HAD A GREAT TIME. WE CLIMBED DUNN'S RIVER FALLS, TOOK A DRIVE INTO THE COUNTRYSIDE TO MEET A RASTA AND A FEW OTHER TOURISTY THINGS. REGINA AND I FELL IN LOVE THE PEOPLE AND CULTURE OF JAMAICA SO MUCH THAT WE HAD OUR HONEYMOON IN MONTEGO BAY.

FAST FORWARD A FEW YEARS TO 2006... I BECAME A TRAVEL AGENT AND HAD THE ABILITY TO PROMOTE JAMAICA. SINCE THEN I HAVE SENT HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ON AMAZING VACATIONS, GROUP GETAWAYS AND WEDDINGS. REGINA AND I CONTINUE TO TAKE MOST OF OUR PERSONAL VACATIONS TO JAMAICA. EVEN WITH COVID I HAVE BEEN TO JAMAICA TWICE IN 2021. OVER THE YEARS I HAVE HAD SO MANY GREAT TIMES AND MET SO MANY AWESOME PEOPLE I AM THRILLED THAT I AM FINALLY ABLE TO TIE MY LOVE OF JAMAICA AND MY LOVE OF CANNABIS TOGETHER.
